demons

i know what you're thinking
something's not quite right
i've got these thoughts running through my head
every night.
i know you feel me tossing and turning
and our bed is getting cold
i guess things just aren't the same
now that we've grown old
i'd turn to the bottle
my old friend
but the same things that got me here
won't help me in the end
i wrestle with these demons
they're on both sides
these days i don't put up much of a fight.
i want things to get better
like when we fell in love.
